(openPR) - Parallel project calculations using Excel spreadsheets are a thing of the past – planning effort and administrative costs are reduced

Graz, Sep. 19, 2007 – The new version 7.1 of the project leadership software Onepoint Project is now available. It will be presented for the first time at the DMS EXPO that will take place from September 25 to 27 in Cologne, Germany. The most important improvements are based on repeatedly issued customer requests. These include the separation of internal and external hourly rates as well as a payment plan on the basis of milestones for liquidity planning. Both extensions are essential for the implementation of customer projects and projects funded with government grants, e.g., in the areas of product development or IT services.

Onepoint Project represents a multi-project management solution that supports the whole project lifecycle in an integrated fashion. The work on multiple, parallel projects is supported through special functionality for the portfolio management. Through a tight connection between project management, resource management and project controlling, projects are becoming more transparent and at the same time project risks and administration effort are reduced. According to reference customers, Onepoint excels especially in its intuitiveness and its usability.

Beside further improved usability, the new version increases the level of flexibility when working with different hourly rates. These can now be defined per resource and time period, per project and per project and time period. For the first time, this allows the exact calculation of project costs and proceeds within the integrated cost baseline: The costly maintenance of additional Excel-calculations is not necessary anymore.

Onepoint presents version 7.1 for the first time next week at the booth of their partner icomedias (hall 7, booth A-060) at the DMS EXPO taking place from September 25 to 27 in Colgone, Germany as well as at the IBM booth (hall B2) at the Systems tradeshow (from October 23 to 26 in Munich, Germany).
