Onlineprinters remains on growth track

500 employees, 100 printing units and investments of EUR 10 million in 2014

Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany – “We are continuing to grow strongly in the online printing segment,” Walter Meyer, CEO of Onlineprinters GmbH, happily reports. In the past 12 months, the online print shop was able to attract more than 80,000 new customers. The goal for further growth at Onlineprinters is 20 percent, mainly in European countries outside Germany. This intended development has been supported by investments of five million euros in employees, infrastructure, buildings and machines in 2013. Roughly ten million euros will be spent in 2014.

“Our customers expect premium service, top product quality and quick delivery times, which is why we are constantly investing,” Meyer explains with regard to the ultra-modern and certified production according to ProcessStandard Offset (PSO), which now comprises around 100 printing units that are operating at full capacity around the clock. Meyer sees this as a confirmation of online printing as a formula for success: “Regular investments in state-of-the-art machines and process optimisation lead to more cost efficiency and therefore to lower prices in the online shop.”

Qualified employees as growth engine
Currently, the medium-sized company in Neustadt an der Aisch, which is part of the metropolitan region of Nuremberg, employs 500 people. In early 2013, there were around 350 employees in the sales and production departments, but this figure has grown by 40 percent until March 2014: “Thanks to their commitment, our trained specialists make an enormous contribution to our growth. In return, we offer our staff long-term safe employment,” the CEO says, thanking the staff of Onlineprinters, which includes print media engineers, web designers, print technicians, web developers and many specialists from the fields of e-commerce, marketing and sales. The customer service team consists of native speakers, who give competent advice to customers from 30 European countries. In total, they offer phone and email support for 14 online shops in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Polish.

Print will stay – online printing as a growth market
“Our name stands for quality made in Germany,” Meyer says. With a portfolio of 1,400 print products in more than ten million versions, the http://www.onlineprinters.com online shop is practically a full-range supplier. Publications, such as brochures, flyers and also print products for businesses, are still printed and account for the lion’s share in online printing. New exclusive offerings, such as brochures from a print run of one and forgery-proof event tickets, are well received among customers. Digital printing is a strong growth market with order increases of around 80 percent. The formula for success “All print products at reasonable prices and quickly from one source” is paying off: More than 300,000 regular customers rely on the online shops of the online printing service provider: “We score with certified security for online purchases with the well-known Trusted Shops quality seal for buyer protection and customer evaluations and the TÜV SÜD s@fer-shopping certificate for tested quality, security and transparency for online purchases,” the CEO of Onlineprinters GmbH explains.
