(openPR) - Imagine facing a belligerent, one-ton monster with four, six-inch long, interlocking canines and another 2000 pounds of pressure per square inch in his jaws. His eyes look demonic and his paralyzing roar louder than that of a male lion. As swift as he is agile, the Steller sea lion bull can outrun a human and scale vertical rock walls.

Beachmaster is the story of Goliath, a Steller sea lion pup rescued off the coast of Alaska. Goliath appears docile, but as he matures, things change. Soon, his natural instincts take over. Goliath lives to rule…and breed. He escapes from the Ocean Beach Aquarium, in New London, CT, during a violent hurricane and ravages the coastal towns of New England in search of a female Steller (there are none in the Atlantic) causing mayhem and death wrought from frustration. Help comes from a most unlikely source.

Much of the action is based on Benjamin's real life experiences as the former Curator of Exhbits and Husbandry at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, USA. As he put it, "We were the first to try and train one of these animals-and live to tell about it. I still have nightmares after 30 years."

Comments from readers have been wholly positive including these:

“Fast paced and gripping, Benjamin has captured the kind of excitement reminiscent of Peter Benchley’s classic, Jaws.” (Brian Judd, author of Beyond the Bookstore)

“Riveting…like a freight train. Beachmaster starts off slow, speeds up and never slows down.” (Jerry Labriola, M.D., mystery writer and coauthor with Dr. Henry Lee of The Budapest Connection)
