(openPR) - Nowhere else is it as easy to say goodbye to summer as in the holiday region of Zell am See-Kaprun. While elsewhere people might sing the blues because the warm summer days are gone, everyone indulges in the advantages of the coming season in Pinzgau. Here, summer turns smoothly into winter. Before you can say 'goodbye summer' visitors exchange their beach wear for a snowboard and set off to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier at an altitude of more than 3,000 metres!
But this is not to say that you cannot enjoy autumn to the full in Zell am See and Kaprun. A hiking tour, a horse ride or a relaxing bath in the hot spa - you name it! Even in rainy weather, the region has many options to offer. But if you really cannot wait to hear the snow crunching under your feet, take one of the cable cars up to the first glacier skiing region in Austria. Down to a snowfall line of 2,500 metres, Kitzsteinhorn guarantees to wear white and conveys the impression that visitors are always surrounded by the ultimate winter panorama.
And in deed, snow enthusiasts don't have to wait much longer until they can indulge in the fun of the snow-covered pistes. Zell am See-Kaprun is one of the first holiday regions to open the season as early as 17th November with the White Start Opening on Kitzsteinhorn. For the entire weekend there will be a big party on the glacier. While some experts take the opportunity to chat with media representatives about the innovations of the market, others prefer looking around in the Snow Arena. Directly around the corner of the Alpincenter, international DJs and light effects make sure that the out-door après-ski disco becomes the 'party Mecca' at 2,450 metres of altitude.
The White Start Opening would not be complete without testing the latest boards, helmets and gloves. Atomic, Fischer, and Salomon: all the leading manufacturers will definitely not miss coming to Kitzsteinhorn to display their new, innovative products. The pros at the skiing schools will be glad to give a helping hand, show visitors how to handle the high-tech equipment, and teach them to 'tame' the wintry white.
