e-Zest releases its technology trends predictions for 2014

Unlike 2013, this year is expected to witness growth in overall IT spending with maximum contribution from enterprise software and device sales.

The team after studying of overall market by team has concluded that year 2014 will be bear a positive outlook. It will see a heavy shift of enterprises and governments towards using technology in order to enhance customer experience and bring in more innovation in the offerings. Some of the key technologies that will help this happen are cloud computing, mobility and big data.

The confusion around cloud will get demystified, which has been the main hindrance in cloud adoption. The year 2014 will see more discrete solutions being built from cloud service providers and end users, continuing the trend from 2013. More clarity of cloud computing will allow more seamless integration of cloud technologies within organizations. In the coming year, more emphasis will be on promoting application interoperability that aims at making virtualized applications operate concurrently across vendor-neutral cloud platforms due to the need for communication within applications across cloud.

Tablets and smart devices will grow in big numbers to displace paper-based processes. Healthcare organizations have already started using digital prescriptions. Other industries will embrace this trend in 2014 after seeing the demonstrated benefits mobility has to offer. The processes where employees are in the field and interacting with the service events will be the first ones to be mobilized. HTML5 will be the app platform of choice for organizations. With improved Javascript support from various browsers, HTML5 will get more traction in 2014.

Organizations will start consuming more and more big data analytics to understand their customers through common trends and patterns acquired through the analysis. The big data implementations will happen in other verticals too, apart from e-commerce industry. Industrial internet or internet of things will create a network of connected sensors to deliver huge quantities of telemetry, in order to foster improved product design, accurate prediction of failure and so on.

Other technologies that will be impacted in 2014 are wearable computing, foldable screens and 3D printing. In our opinion 2014 will be an interesting year to watch for, from the perspective of technology, as new hardware, operating systems, software and applications will change the way we interact with computing devices.
