WiFiMobile extend mobile VoIP beyond Wi-Fi or 3G
Press release from: WiFiMobile
(openPR) - Los Angeles California September 11th 2007 - Leading mobile VoIP provider WiFiMobile today announced an enhanced international calling service for it’s users in the US and UK.
The company has addressed the issue that making free VoIP calls on a Nokia device is dependent on the user being in range of a Wi-Fi access point or by having an unlimited data plan.
WiFiMobile’s US and UK customers can now call through normal GSM internationally to landlines in over 40 countries at purely the cost of a local call. For instance, a user in the UK can call a landline in Brazil and the call simply comes out of their bundled minutes.
Importantly international (local calls) can be made anywhere that users have normal GSM coverage. There is no requirement for WLAN access or an unlimited 3G data plan.
WiFiMobile have initially rolled out the service for customers in the US and the UK with more to follow.
Free VoIP calls to landlines in over 40 countries continue to be included for users of Nokia E and Nseries smartphones over Wi-Fi or 3G.
Monthly costs remain consistent at $15.99, €11.99 or £7.99 with no minimum contractual commitment. To coincide with the additional benefits the company have an extended 14 day trial.
CEO Gerry O’Prey states “We now have the most powerful and robust VoIP client available, however we have recognized and acted on the fact that connection to a WLAN access point is not always possible”.
