(openPR) - Cologne, 10 September 2007; contentteam provides companies with an efficient method of controlling processes in manuals management using the ECM platform EMC Documentum. Automated workflows aid the editing process and facilitate the management of virtual manuals, product documentation, instructions or technical concepts.
Based on a set of defined rules, information and related activities are passed through the content lifecycle – from the entry, creation and editing of content through release or publication and on to archiving or disposal.
contentteam models the content of manuals in the DITA XML architecture as topics so that it can be reused in different contexts. Authors enter content, including metadata, using the X-MetaL XML editor. This method allows users to ensure that content is produced efficiently and is consistent and of high quality.
Electronic Form Management with the Adobe Life Cycle Suite
The integration service providers are also showcasing a solution that organises and automates the collaborative creation, release and publication of electronic forms.
In many large and medium-sized companies, thousands of forms and questionnaires are created locally and placed on a network server for downloading. With this type of unstructured system, the risk of using incorrect or outdated documents is high. contentteam uses the Adobe Lifecycle Suite and EMC Documentum Webpublisher to manage and standardise the processes involved in creating, checking, approving and publishing forms. The solution ensures that only forms that have been released and updated are published in selected intranet or internet locations. It also allows managers to set dynamic permissions enabling only certain people to read, comment on, modify, print or copy forms. To eliminate the need for a separate workflow for each form, the contentteam solution also allows packages of two or more forms to be created.
