Megabien releases new album of Cynthia Johnson

With this solo album Johnson once again proves that she knows how to use her remarkable gift as a singer and songwriter but also a producer. Listeners will be inspired by the appealing sentiments and stirring sound of this exceptional R&B record. Rhythmic melodies, popular grooves, all combined on an eleven track album that brings out all the color and nuances that the R&B music is known for while simultaneously embracing the whole “sound panorama” of this music genre. The listener will also be exposed to an artistic, clever merge with modern hip hop/rap elements, be surprised by the musical contribution of Minnesota´s upcoming rappers Jeson (#1) and Lei’tah (#11).
"All That I Am", produced by Cynthia Johnson herself and published on the label “Megabien Music”, sums up a lifetime of a vocal artistry on a very personal level with songs fueled by Johnson´s life experience. It is Johnson in full bloom, at the peak of her talents and in full control of her performance and passion.
The album is also a proof of Johnson´s roots, it features some of Minnesota´s most talented musicians, such as multi-instrumentalist and co-producer Jack Robinson (Prince, Brandy, Chaka Kahn, Kiss, Tears for Fears), drummers Michael Bland (Prince, Jonny Lang) and Kirk Johnson (Prince), keyboarder Ricky Peterson (Stevie Nicks, John Meyer), bassist Tony Axtell (Donny Osmond, also house sound engineer of “A Prairie Home Companion”) or famed Cuban pianist Ignacio “Nachito” Herrera (settled in MN in 2001). It also includes songs with guest vocalist Giorge Pettus (opening act of Whitney Houston) and local, upcoming rappers Jeson and Lei´tah.
To support her new album Johnson will be on tour in 2014, she will also be participating at several international festivals. Enjoying the work of “All That I Am”, Johnson already started to work on her next solo album “Shake” to be produced by award winning producer Mark Howard and Megabien Entertainment. So you won´t need to wait long for more music from the “Voice of Funkytown”.
