Emergency Notification and Mass Messaging Solutions

Regroup announced today that it has been selected as one of 11 finalists to advance to the final round of San Francisco’s Entrepreneurship-in-Residence Program. Nearly 200 startups applied throughout the U.S. and from across the world such as London, Paris and Vienna in Europe and Tokyo, Schengen and Bangalore in Asia.

Regroup provides easy, effective, and integrated mass messaging for organizations. The company was founded at Stanford University as a solution to one-click, multi-channel messaging from administrators to students, including via email, text, voice, and social media. Regroup’s current government clients include the City and County of San Francisco. Through the SF EIR Program, Regroup plans to build on its cutting-edge platform that city administrators can use for multi-modal messaging to their employees or citizens for both day-to-day and emergency notifications.

Inspired by President Obama's call, "We've got to have our brightest minds to help solve our biggest challenges," this first-ever program within government will assist startups in developing technology-enabled products and services to address national issues of critical importance. This program has received support both nationally and globally, with people asking their cities to emulate San Francisco’s innovative program.

Rahul Mewawalla, a senior executive with Nokia, NBC, GE and Yahoo and senior advisor to the San Francisco Mayor on innovation, who is leading the program, said, “We selected the finalists based on a number of criteria including the team’s caliber, product innovation, potential for high impact, and relevance to critical areas of national importance. We expect to drive tangible and measurable benefits – lower costs, increase revenue, enhance productivity and help save lives.”

Participation in the program is accompanied by mentorship from public and private sector leaders including the White House, San Francisco and McKinsey & Company, and with the mentorship provided Regroup will build further innovations and integrations into its easy, effective communications platform. Joe DiPasquale, CEO of Regroup, said, “We are proud to be named one of the 11 finalists for San Francisco’s EIR Program.”

“Integrated and coordinated mass communications across multiple channels including email, text message, voice message, social media like Facebook and Twitter is critical for both day-to-day and emergency communications. We are excited about Regroup and their building the next-generation of communications and messaging tools with an integrated platform that can scale across large numbers of people and across a variety of urban situations and environments,” said Mr. Mewawalla.
