"Greece innovates" Applied Research and Innovation

2nd Prize for APIVITA

APIVITA was honored to receive the second prize in the "Innovation" category at the "Greece Innovates" competition organized by Eurobank and the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises which was held on Tuesday September 17th at the "Hellenic Cosmos" cultural center.

The prize was awarded for the innovative extraction method of Greek Propolis for the production of high valued raw material with anti-oxidant and photo-protective activity.

The Research and Development team of APIVITA achieved through a method with minimum energy consumption and zero waste, to isolate the components of propolis which provide its anti-oxidant, photo-protective and anti-aging activity.

The patented method is already applied in all products of the suncare range, creating a second defense mechanism for the skin against the harmful effects of solar radiation and APIVITA is currently moving towards applying the propolis patented extract to all the anti-aging products.

"Greece Innovates" competition takes place every two years and promotes innovative work of Greek researchers to the wider public, while at the same time is focusing on bringing the research community into contact with the business community in Greece and bridging the world of laboratories with that of production.

Winning this prize came as a great recognition by two major Greek institutions of APIVITA’s scientific consistency and method, ethics and discipline, in the natural cosmetics industry and in society in general.

The Research and Development team of APIVITA will continue to study and develop innovative methods based on the rich biodiversity of Greek nature, always with responsibility and respect towards the environment and society.

The challenge for APIVITA, is to promote entrepreneurship as an antidote to the crisis, and to bring out to the world an optimistic, creative, innovative, side of Greece.
