MindMeister is now available through RM Unify

Munich, October 03, 2013: Following successful partnerships with learning platforms in Europe, the US and Asia, MindMeister, the market-leading web-based mind mapping solution, is now working with RM Unify, RM Education’s “Launch Pad to the Cloud”. RM covers the UK market and will be delivering MindMeister’s online solution directly to students, teachers and school districts there. This approach fits MindMeister’s strategy to team up with local partners who are able to ensure a more personal experience for its users. “We’re very happy to work with RM. They have tremendous knowledge and experience with the UK market and will be a perfect link between MindMeister and its end users there,” said MeisterLabs Managing Director, Till Vollmer.

RM Unify enables schools and other educational institutes to access cloud-based learning resources and easily manage all their accounts. It also provides staff and students with individual login details, which grant access to services utilized by the school. MindMeister will be available through RM Unify’s App Library, which enables schools to purchase cloud applications and services from a wide variety of top educational providers.

As MindMeister was built with a huge emphasis on collaboration, it allows students to easily create and share ideas while working in teams and with their teachers. There are a vast number of uses for both individual and teamwork in projects, group assignments, managing information, taking notes and studying for example. The built in presentation mode enables students to quickly present their ideas and work in class.

“Application possibilities are pretty much endless,” Till Vollmer said. “And students are not the only ones who benefit. Teachers especially appreciate MindMeister’s task management features and use it to develop, share and manage projects, homework and group assignments.” Being cloud based, MindMeister and RM Unify give teachers the tools to seamlessly link home and school activities. Also, with mobile apps available for all Android and iOS devices, students and teachers alike can make their mind maps on the go. This will also be a very important feature for schools in the UK that are switching to a BYOD, bring your own device, program.

After the first meeting between MindMeister and RM at BETT 2012, the world’s largest education and technology conference, both companies started working together to find a business model that fits both companies’ aspirations and goals. Once this was in place the two tech teams got to work to make the integration a possibility, the MindMeister team integrated with Shibboleth, RM Unify’s single-sign on solution. The integration was finalized at the beginning of September, resulting in a successful launch this week.
