Highlights at Cleanzone 2013

The countdown to the second Cleanzone in Frankfurt am Main has begun. On 22 and 23 October 2013 the international trade fair and congress will be offering up numerous highlights, including practical presentations, fascinating expert discussions and the presentation of the Cleanroom Award.

Cleanzone Congress

The international Cleanzone Congress bridges the gap between scientific knowledge, practical expertise and interdisciplinary exchange. Participants will be able to enjoy 15 high-calibre presentations by leading experts from the cleanroom sector and other industries using this technology. One of the highlights will be the keynote speech by C Luis Vasquez on the second day of the congress. The founder and president of the Yantaló Peru Foundation will be reporting on his ambitious project in his presentation entitled “Cleanroom: a major challenge for a diagnostic centre in Yantaló, a rural district in the Peruvian Amazon”.

Panel discussion on interdisciplinarity in cleanroom technology

In her panel discussion on “Interdisciplinarity in cleanroom technology – the ideal and the reality” Anke Geipel-Kern, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the trade journal PharmaTEC, will be asking: What can different sectors learn from one another? Is an interdisciplinary exchange of expertise, e.g. from the semiconductor industry to the pharmaceuticals industry, possible? And: is there even a readiness to adopt innovations from other areas of application – or are the requirements simply not comparable? This panel discussion featuring key figures from the sector is taking place at Cleanzone Plaza on 23 October 2013 at 3:30 p.m.

Expert roundtable on the revision of ISO 14644-1 and -2

Following his presentation on the revision of ISO 14644-1
and -2 in the Cleanzone Congress, Dr. Lothar Gail, GMP Consultant and co-founder of the International Confederation of Contamination Control Societies (ICCCS), will be hosting an expert roundtable at Cleanzone Plaza. What are the most important changes in the new cleanroom standards, and what impact will they have on the industry? He will be discussing this with his panel of cleanroom technology experts on 23 October 2013 at 12:00 p.m.

Cleanroom Award exhibition and awards ceremony

ReinraumAkademie (Leipzig) will be presenting the Cleanroom Award in Frankfurt for the second time. This prize, which is worth 3,000 euros, honours pioneering innovations for the cleanroom industry that lead the way in functionality, efficiency and sustainability. All of the entries were evaluated in advance by a jury of experts, who selected the five best projects. The developers of these projects will personally present them at Cleanzone Plaza on the first day of the trade fair and they will be featured in a special exhibition area where trade fair and congress visitors will not only have the opportunity to come face to face with these new concepts and solutions, but also to vote for their favourites. The winner of the public vote will be honoured in an awards ceremony on 23 October 2013 at 12:30 p.m.

- “Innovative cleanroom concept: maximising energy efficiency and minimising CO2 emissions by using combined cooling, heat and power for cleanroom air conditioning” – Curasan AG in Frankfurt am Main (D)

Cleanzone – trade fair and congress
Messe Frankfurt is expecting some 50 exhibitors from eight countries for the second Cleanzone. This international trade fair is aimed at those responsible for production in all industries where production is carried out under cleanroom conditions, or where there are plans to utilise this technology in future. As a result, Cleanzone will be presenting nearly the entire range of what is on offer, from planning, implementation, technology and systems to training and consumables. Trade fair visitors will also be able to enjoy the free programme at the Cleanzone Plaza event stage featuring practical expertise from exhibitors and experts. The Cleanzone Congress takes place at the same time as the trade fair. This outstanding knowledge platform will be tackling current topics in the cleanroom industry, offering opportunities for interdisciplinary and cross-country exchange at a professional level.

Dates, times and ticket prices
Cleanzone will be taking place on 22 and 23 October 2013 in Hall 1.1 of the Frankfurt exhibition grounds alongside CPhI, the world's leading trade fair for pharmaceutical ingredients. The trade fair and congress will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on 22 October, and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on 23 October.

Trade fair ticket prices: Trade fair visitors who register online by 18 October will obtain their tickets free of charge. Tickets will cost €25.00 at the ticket office during the event. Entrance to Cleanzone is free of charge for CPhI visitors.

Congress ticket prices: Participation in the Cleanzone Congress costs €600.00 for a ticket covering the entire event, or €450.00 for a one-day ticket. Each congress ticket includes food and drink, participation in the “Cleanzone Night” evening event on 22 October 2013 and admission to the trade fair.
