EdX and Aspiring Minds Join Forces to Improve Employability in India through Online Education

NEW DELHI, INDIA – August 30, 2013 – Aspiring Minds, India’s leading employability solutions company, and edX, the not-for-profit online learning initiative composed of the leading global institutions of the xConsortium including MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, and IIT Bombay, joined hands today to improve employability amongst the Indian workforce through online education.

The collaboration will enable more than one million people enrolled with Aspiring Minds to receive employability advice through their flagship product AMCAT. The recommendation engine will enable students to find and access edX courses that address their specific skill gaps, in specialties ranging from math, to science, to technology, and beyond. Aspiring Minds’ users who completes edX courses will be awarded edX course certificates, and these credentials will be integrated within their AMCAT user profile, giving them an additional edge in the employment search process. Also, Aspiring Minds will invite all students from India who complete edX courses to the exclusive AMCAT platform and expose them to its 450+ corporate clients. This will not only help students and young job-seekers improve their employability but will also help them connect with organizations across the country for suitable employment.
