Press release from: Bass Computers, Inc.

Houston, TX August 21, 2013–Bass Computers, Inc. (BCI®) announced today the successful achievement of their R2:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and OSHAS 18001:2007 certifications. Bass Computers, Inc. is a wholesale distributor of technology and CCTV equipment, which also offers IT asset disposal, electronics recycling, and data destruction.

R2 (Responsible Recycling) is the leading standard for the electronics recycling industry, setting a high bar for practices including data security, environmental practices, proper e-waste disposal, health and human safety, and the remarketing and reuse of IT equipment. Certification entails a rigorous independent third party audit evaluating over 50 areas of operational and environmental performance.

“We are committed to making sure that all of our customers’ equipment is handled properly from pick-up to final disposal. Receiving our certification provides our customers with independent assurance that their equipment is going to be recycled responsibly,” said Mel Hall, President/CEO. “We want our customers to be confident that we are a trusted partner for the disposal of their IT equipment.”

In addition to the R2 Certification, Bass Computers, Inc. also attained their ISO 14001:2004 and OSHAS 18001:2007 certifications. ISO 14001:2004 is an internationally recognized standard providing organizations with tools to identify and control their environmental impacts and improve their performance. OSHAS 18001:2007 is a standard developed to help organizations control occupational health and safety risks.

“Achieving these certifications was one of the major goals set for our company in 2013. I’m very proud of the hard work and commitment shown by our employees in reaching this goal,” said Jim Campbell, VP/CFO. “It reflects our dedication to the proper recycling, refurbishing, and remarketing of electronics; to minimizing our impact on the environment, and to our continued efforts to make Bass a safer place to work for our employees.”
