Press release from: 31 INC
(openPR) - “Village Poplars at the River Bank”, a painting by Landscape Artist, William Horton, friend of Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and other Impressionists of the period, has found its way into the 31 Inc.’s Marketplace Gallery and is currently available for sale. (www.31corp.com)

With a palette rich in color, Daryle S. Lambert, President of 31 Inc., states that Horton’s palette on this particular piece is the best he has seen.

Horton, whose highest price attained for a piece in 1991 was $104,500, came from a wealthy American family who disinherited him when he committed himself to study art.

Born in Grand Rapids Michigan in 1865 and raised in North Dakota, Horton first began his studies at the Art Institute of Chicago. He continued his studies in New York, and after his marriage in 1892, he and his wife moved to Paris, where he was a student in the Academy Julian. Horton became active in the American-French art community, where he became friends with many of the impressionists including Claude Monet and Edgar Degas. Horton, like his famous contemporaries, exhibited in the Paris salons and became a member of the Societe Moderne, Societe Internationale, and the Salon d’Autonme.

Upon his death in 1936, Horton left behind works in oils, pastels, and watercolors

Information about “Village Poplars at the River Bank” and the works of other various artists can be obtained through the company website under the fine arts category. (www.31corp.com)
