DIY DataRecovery.nl announced immediate availability of iUndelete [NTFS] version 3

Haarlem, Netherlands - August 21 - DIY DataRecovery.nl, a Dutch software developer specializing in data recovery and disk repair software since 1998, has announced the immediate availability of the latest version of it’s consumer line product iUndelete [NTFS] version 3.0.

iUndelete is an easy to use, wizard driven undelete and file recovery utility, specifically designed to rescue deleted files or files lost due to systematic file system damage, on Windows XP and Vista (NTFS 3.1) formatted NTFS partitions. In common data-loss scenarios the user typically has to pick a drive to recover data from, a drive to copy salvaged data to and tag files and folders for recovery.

Utilizing file system enhancements in NTFS version 3.1 (as created by Windows XP and up) iUndelete [NTFS] can reconstruct a directory tree even if the root index and sub directories have been totally destroyed. “In fact, iUndelete [NTFS] will never rely on those structures for reconstructing a directory tree” – says J van Steen, founder of DIY DataRecovery.nl.
iUndelete [NTFS] will detect parameters that are vital for a successful recovery, such as cluster size, automatically without relying on file system structures that normally hold on to this information.

iUndelete offers 3 modes of operation, each tailored to specific data-loss scenarios going from simple file undelete to file recovery after a volume has been re-formatted or lost entirely. The modes of operation are undelete, unformat and partition recovery mode.

A unique data validation engine can predict the overall recoverability of the file system. The validation engine actually examines the contents of lost files and evaluates their state. “This can prove to be very useful while evaluating the software”.

The trial version can recover files of any type and size so the software’s performance can be evaluated before purchasing – the only limitation being that files can only be selected one at the time in trial-mode. “It beats the file-preview feature as found in other products though’, says van Steen, “the best preview is a recovered file: If you’re only after a couple of dozen files, you do not even need to purchase a license”.
