Successful expansion: Cuculus GmbH has opened a new office

The new office in Cologne was opened with the aim of building a bridge between the headquarter in Ilmenau (Thuringia) and the customers in BeNeLux and Western Germany. The opening underlines the continuing expansion course of Cuculus which will keep growing rapidly in 2013.

„Starting from the new location in Cologne, we are able to contact our customers and business partners directly and faster.“ explains René Böringer, co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Cuculus GmbH. „ As a traffic hub in the West of Germany, Cologne provides a perfect starting point and can be considered as an optimal meeting location for our customers, business partners and own specialists. “

Next to the headquarter in Ilmenau, the office in Leipzig and the sales offices in the Rhein-Neckar region and the Netherlands, Cologne will be a further location for our development and project planning. As an „internet city“ with focus on internet technologies, infrastructure and media, Cologne is an attractive location for new employees. We have the ambitious goal that further positions can be filled through qualified employees until the end of 2013. The first employees have already moved into the new location fulfilling tasks with regard to product management, web and database development.

Cuculus helps utilities deliver Smart Metering by connecting electric, gas and water meters to ZONOS, a robust IT platform that can be integrated with utilities existing back-end systems. The Company has also developed the infrastructure and products required to support the management of home appliances (“Home Control”) for utilities and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The ZONOS platform is open and vendor independent thus making it possible to work with the meters and communication structure of choice. The system is scalable and can be implemented as a managed service or running in a company’s system environment. This creates the opportunity for simple and cost effective to roll out of services. The integration of smart metering and home control furthermore provides opportunities for demand management and other advanced services.
