Dutch Inventor Creates Revolutionary Form of Internet Advertising
Press release from: T&S Advertising
(openPR) - Amsterdam, Netherlands (FPRC) 5 January 2006 -- A 23-year-old Dutch entrepreneur has invented a new form of advertising called "Title and Status Bar". With it he hopes to change the way we think about advertising as well as pay for his final year at university.
Johan Struijk, from Amsterdam, Holland, set up ts-advertising.com after thinking about new ways of Internet advertising. Johan is in his final year of I.T studies at the university of Amsterdam and like most students needs money to pay for his studies. The Internet is the perfect breeding ground for new ideas.
With "Title and Status Bar" advertising, publishers rent space on the title bar of web browsers.
Traditionally when a user opens a web page the title of that page is displayed on the title bar of the web browser. If the web site is running "Title and Status Bar" advertising then the title text is replaced by advertisement text. At the bottom of the browser is an area known as the status bar, this also is used to display advertisement text.
Johan commented, "The title and status bars are great places to place phone numbers or company slogans."
Johan believes that at only $1 per 1000 views this is a low cost but effective form of advertising.
"I think this will mainly appeal to modern, forward thinking businesses," Johan said, "and perhaps some of the larger blue chip companies who have established brand names and slogans."
The development and testing of the site has been in secret until now. "I was really fearful that someone else would steal my idea," said Johan.
This isn't the first invention of Johans. "I see myself mainly as an inventor and an entrepreneur," said Johan, "this isn't my first Internet idea, I invented and developed other Internet and non-Internet inventions in the past."
