Press release from: emtas GmbH

Merseburg, 04/25/2013 – emtas GmbH located in the heart of Germany has extended its Master and Slave CANopen stacks to support the Fujitsu Semiconductor MB9BF506n microcontroller from the FM3 family. This efficient controller is based on the ARM Cortex-M3 with a clock rate up to 80MHz using 2 integrated CAN-controller of the widely used C_CAN from Bosch. This combination of devices is an ideal base for CANopen applications using the emtas CANopen stack implementations. The use of ARM core offers the user a wide spectrum of development tools.

emtas' CANopen slave stack was created for the development of small CANopen slave applications whereas the master/slave variant may be used to develop master and slave applications supporting all services conforming CiA 301 and CiA 305 (LSS). License fee accrue only once. Afterwards it allows the use of the CANopen stack royalty free. The license is bound to a single development site. The CANopen stack will be delivered as ANSI-C source code and has many features to configure and scale it to the needs of the application.

With the CANopen stack a single-user license of the CANopen Device Designer is delivered free of charge. This tool allows a rapid design of the CANopen application and it will automatically create the stack configuration as well as the object dictionary and the required electronic data sheets in EDS and XDD format and also device documentation.

emtas is a member of CAN in Automation (CiA) and the developers of the CANopen stacks are involved in the development of the standards. More information about us and our products can be found on our website. http://www.emtas.de/produkte/canopen-slave-stack .
