Innov-X Portable XRF analyzers are simple, yet effective, RoHS screening devices.
Innov-X Portable XRF analyzers are simple, yet effective, RoHS screening devices.
(openPR) - Woburn, MA, August 14, 2007--- Because of the many RoHS*, REACH, and Pb-free challenges facing the electronics industry today, Innov-X offers the most complete range of handheld to benchtop XRF instruments. Learn how using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) to screen components, parts and PCB’s will help with compliance for the growing demands of international RoHS* and other Directives by visiting Innov-X’s Booth at the SMTA’s Capital† meeting. It’s a visit guaranteed to be worthwhile.

Innov-X Portable XRF analyzers are simple, yet effective, screening devices that can be taken virtually anywhere. With the ability to alert users to banned metals, using pass or fail criteria, they will document total Cr, Br, Pb, Hg, and Cd. In just seconds, prohibited materials can be identified and quantified.

Innov-X patent pending RoHS Engine method and RoHS-Star™ software makes screening and quantitative analysis fast, reliable, and easy to use. They automatically determine if a sample is homogenous or non-homogenous, polymer or alloy, and optimizes the analyzer for best precision and detection limits. No user input is required – thus virtually eliminating the possibility of user errors.

NEW Laser-Focus Camera System Handheld XRF for revolutionary small-spot testing which displays the image and sample target on the color PDA screen in real-time. This handheld XRF will also capture a digital picture AND test results for RoHS compliance documentation – all in the world’s most portable handheld XRF Analyzer. It is ideal for evaluating non-homogeneous parts such as PCB’s where the beam can be focused (down to 3mm diameter) on a small component, solder joint, lead or terminal. You can switch from collimated pinpoint to full-field analysis with the touch of a button. Snapshot images of samples analyzed are saved as part of your test records. The analyzer can measure up to 25 elements in a single test with pinpoint precision.

NEW X-50 Mobile Portable XRF is the ultimate benchtop XRF featuring 10x or more the power of handhelds now in a mobile package. Test Cd down to 1 ppm in many sample types, 10 ppm in alloys. This is ideal for the RoHS Packaging Directive which requires sum of Cd, Hg, Pb, Cr less than 100 ppm.

Inspector Series™ Handheld XRF is ideal for testing Pb content in solder and parts, with the simplest configuration of any handheld XRF. This testing is vital to avoid tin whiskering resulting from using the wrong solder materials.

*RoHS= international Legal Directives currently from China and the EU for environmental regulations concerning the Restriction of use of Hazardous Substances. The EU’s Directive requires the removal of six hazardous substances from electrical and electronic equipment. Six Substances: Pb, Hg, Cd, Cr+6, Br-compound: PBB - Polylybrominated Biphenyl; Br-compound: PBDE –polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers.

About Innov-X Systems

Innov-X Systems is a vital force in the x-ray fluorescence (XRF) industry. Their systems perform fast, accurate elemental analysis in seconds to identify, differentiate and quantify most materials by elemental composition. Founded in 2001, they pioneered handheld XRF instrumentation using a miniature x-ray tube rather than radioactive isotopes. Innov-X has rapidly expanded into many other XRF areas. These include the new SEA-Mate™ System for marine on-board fluids analysis; X-50 Mobile XRF, a portable XRF that in comparison to handheld units, delivers higher power and superior performance throughout the periodic table. Innov-X has also taken a leading position in custom XRF and online/automated XRF instrumentation.

With R&D and manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Innov-X has offices in Europe (the Netherlands), and Asia (Hong Kong). They maintain sales and service alliances in Canada, the Middle East, Latin America and worldwide. Service, installation and training is available in over 100 countries.
