(openPR) - (Panama City) – Yalile Alpízar, president and owner of Costa Rica Luxury Estates and Regional Director of Central America for Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate (LuxuryRealEstate.com), recently visited Panama to meet with prominent members of that country’s real-estate industry.

During the visit she had an important working session with Víctor González, Director of Central America, Colombia and Venezuela InmOptions at Grupo Mall, developers of Los Faros de Panama, which will be among the tallest residential towers in the world when it is completed in Punta Pacífica, Panama City. She will work closely with them in promoting the project through the Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate international network.

Grupo Mall, the Spanish promoter characterized for its development of unique projects, is currently building Los Faros de Panama, a complex which will represent an investment of 450 million Euros and which will create 2,000 jobs when fully operational.

Los Faros de Panama, whose scope and cutting-edge design are expected to make it an emblem of this capital city, with nearly 5.4 million square feet of space, rising on a piece of land approximately 376,000 square feet in size, located in a privileged area close to the Punta Pacifica Hospital, affiliated with John Hopkins and bordering on the Bay of Panama, the Parque Metropolitano Omar, the Parque Natural Metropolitano, and the financial district.

The project is comprised of three towers: two lateral towers that will rise 950 feet and a central tower with a height of 1,135 feet and include 85 floors, making it one of the tallest residential buildings currently existing in the world. The three skyscrapers, whose construction is planned to conclude at the first quarter of 2010, will form a complex containing 1,786 residences, a casino, a large shopping mall, social areas for residents, modern sports installations, various restaurants, and parking for 3,035 cars. It will also have a five-star luxury hotel with 305 rooms in which the principal hotel chains of Spain, Europe and the United States have already shown interest.

A profitable investment
Since the laying of the cornerstone in October last year, Los Faros de Panama has achieved remarkable success among investors, mainly Europeans, Americans and Canadians. This success has led the Asturian (Spaniard) company to sign an agreement with Air Europa to offer non-stop flight on a Madrid-Panama and Madrid-Campeche (Mexico) route, where Grupo Mall is developing another high-end beach resort.

This collaboration will allow tourists and investors to travel to the two mega-projects developed by Grupo Mall in Latin America, as well as allow the Asturian company to control prospectors’ travel with a schedule of monthly visits. These visits will allow purchasers and agents to witness the progress of Los Faros de Panama first-hand, as well as the business opportunities offered by the country, and its cultural and scenic wealth.

Technological innovations
The constant concern of Grupo Mall to achieve maximum levels of quality and excellence in each of its projects explains its selection of the best specialists. For this reason it has entrusted this project to the prestigious architectural firm of Chapman Taylor España, an affiliate of the British firm Chapman Taylor, the world leader in projects of this scope with more than 40 years of experience in the design and construction of buildings.

This same criterion was followed in hiring an engineering firm equal to this architectural challenge. In this regard the company opted for the firm of Arup Ingenieros, international consultants and experts in structural engineering and installations who have contributed a generous amount of innovation and technical expertise to ensure this project’s quality as one of the emblematic developments of Grupo Mall in Latin America.

Los Faros de Panama incorporates technological advances as well as modular façades of the highest quality, factory-produced piece by piece and always considering the latest in acoustic and thermal insulation, giving the building greater safety and insulation.

Another innovative element is the use of a structure made of post-stressed concrete, which offers optimal resistance to fire, and the incorporation of latest-generation structural elements, such as mass buffers for the maximum safety and comfort of the residents. The project also meets European and American fire protection and safety standards, much stricter than those in effect in the Central American country.

The towers will also be equipped with high-capacity, high-speed "smart" elevators connected to a central security and alarm system, as well as an innovative automatic trash-collection system with trash disposals located on each floor.

An environmentally friendly project
Grupo Mall has taken special care to incorporate environmentally efficient systems in Los Faros de Panama. The project will help to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by using renewable and back-up energy sources.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Grupo Mall will develop an advanced solid-waste treatment system for the complex (for both organic and inorganic waste), which will be processed by a plant in the complex and later sent to the sewage system, thus preventing any dumping of raw waste in the city sewers.

Finally the project contributes to the saving of natural resources, on the one hand through the use of photovoltaic solar panels to reduce electricity consumption; and on the other through use of the automatic trash-collection system, which allows the trash to be separated and compacted for later recycling.
