ABU DHABI, PARIS and LONDON – DISTREE Middle East has confirmed that its 2013 event will take place from the 21st to 23rd May at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel (pictured) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The decision to switch to a larger venue reflects the event’s rapid expansion in recent years. DISTREE Middle East is a business-focused event, offering ICT and CE vendors and distributors the opportunity to interact with buyers from leading retailers and e-tailers from across the region.

Farouk Hemraj, CEO and co-founder at DISTREE Events, explained: “The most recent DISTREE Middle East attracted more than 600 delegates. Demand for meeting space and demonstration areas exceeded capacity. We have chosen to relocate the 2013 event from Fujairah to Abu Dhabi to allow us to accommodate more vendors, more distributors and more retailers.”

DISTREE Middle East is far removed from a traditional trade show or exhibition. Using a unique format - developed by DISTREE Events and deployed in fast-growing emerging markets around the world - the three-day event allows each delegate to pre-schedule a personal agenda of one-on-one meetings based on their precise business needs.

Delegates have the opportunity to attend keynote speeches and panel discussions, participate in interactive workshop sessions, attend one-on-one meetings, network with their peers and access the latest research on retail trends in the region. Evening functions, new product showcases and industry awards offer participants the widest possible range of business benefits.

“Moving to Fairmont Bab Al Bahr allows us to centralise more of the DISTREE Middle East functions in one single venue,” added Hemraj. “DISTREE Events has worked with various Fairmont properties around the world and we look forward to extending this relationship in the Middle East.”

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr boasts a prime location at the mainland gateway to the cosmopolitan city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. With its striking, contemporary architecture, the beachfront business hotel offers the highest level of comfort and elegance throughout.

Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global business destination also contributed to the decision to relocate DISTREE Middle East in 2013. The city’s excellent air and road links, cutting-edge technology infrastructure and outstanding conference and exhibition facilities make it an ideal location for a Middle East business-focused event that attracts ICT and CE manufacturers from around the world.

DISTREE Middle East attracts retailers and e-tailers from 20-plus countries and has expanded its geographic remit to include CIS states in Central Asia. More than 1000 prescheduled one-on-one meetings took place at the most recent DISTREE Middle East, cementing its position as the premier event for ICT and CE vendors and distributors looking to manage, build, review or launch retail channels in the region.
