High-quality cosmetics gift sets from a single supplier – from packaging development to final assembly
Press release from: RHIEM Services GmbH
Leading cosmetics manufacturers such as La Mer Cosmetics, L’Oréal and REVLON have chosen RHIEM as their partner for the development, production and assembly of gift sets. Since October 2012, their high-end sets are being produced at the Voerde plant of RHIEM, according to certified hygiene standards adopted from BRC (British Retail Consortium).
Voerde, 26 October 2012 – High-quality gift and special edition sets, seasonal and topical packaging with outstanding finish and set boxes for the high street market are extremely popular with consumers and have become an integral part of the product range of cosmetics and perfume brands. These machine-made packagings play a major role in the marketing of luxury products, as they are designed to attract sales by convincing consumers of the great value offered by sets. Gift and special edition packagings present the pots, tubes and flacons containing the precious goods in a transparent packaging insert, while leaving ample space for printed information and advertisement on the cardboard box. The RHIEM group specialises in the design and production of such combined cardboard and plastics packagings.
At its in-house design centre, the company uses CAD technology to develop the packaging units. The resulting samples are then further perfected in cooperation with the client. Both the printed cardboard boxes and the thermoformed plastic packaging elements are manufactured at the RHIEM plant in Voerde. In its in-house printing and finishing processes, RHIEM uses not only conventional varnish finishes but also cold embossing and hot foil stamping, cellophaning and finishing laminates. By bringing these production steps together under one roof, RHIEM is in a position to complete orders within a minimum of time, as all specialist departments work closely together. This is particularly important for gift and special edition packagings where costs and timing are often crucial. In October 2012, RHIEM opened a new assembly area that is certified according to the BRC standard for consumer goods, which now complements the company's existing manual assembly department. This new BRC assembly area enables RHIEM to assemble medical and food products that need to be processed according to a very high hygiene standard.
