Mongolian Perspektives: Ulaanbaatars 1st. Governing Mayer visits Berlin
Press release from: German Global Trade Forum Berlin
PR Agency: German Global Trade Forum Berlin
Berlin - "Ulaanbaatar meets Berlin" was the topic of the conference organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in Germany and the German Global Trade Forum Berlin in Europe`s largest hightech park “Adlershof” on October 19th. The former site of Germanys first airfield and former GDR`s Academy of Science attracts more and more high ranking visitors today who find their counterparts to present their urban and national strategies on development, trade and investments.
Ulaanbaatars new city government has done a lot to present the potential of Mongolias capital from her best side. The delegation of H.E. the First Governing Mayor, Nyamaa Bataa, school friend of the present Ambassador of Mongolia, drafted the master planning of Ulaanbaatar in respect of urban development, new energy & housing projects, transportation, agro business and business development. One of the key projects is the creation of a water management system and the construction of a water and waste water system in the settlements of Ulaanbaatars “nomads”. Road construction according modern standards, a new railway line to replace the existing link in city center and the reconstruction of existing housing facilities are on the agenda for the next 20 years. “Green & clean tech industries” are in discussion and Ulaanbaatar is open for international proposals, projects and cooperations.
Thanks to rich natural resources and the increased international demand for "rare earth" Mongolia today is the first choise for the exploration sector and: the German Industry.
Berlin, since years a good address for international exchange of minds, congresses and discussions on future developments, was the host of the 2nd. ASEM-Meeting, the meeting of European and Asian mayors and governors. Ulaanbaatar is frequently visiting Berlin and took part in the German Global Trade Forum Berlin “Green Cities – Green Industries – The Berlin Conference and the Mongolia Business Day 2011” within the frame work of Berlins Asia-Pacific-Weeks.
