GSMA’s Anne Bouverot to deliver keynote address on the convergence of Mobile and Wi-Fi at the WBA Wi-Fi Global Congress in San Francisco
Press release from: Avren Events
San Francisco, October 23. Anne Bouverot, Director General of the GSMA, the organisation representing the interests of mobile operators worldwide is confirmed as a key note speaker at the WBA Wi-Fi Global Congress to be held in San Francisco this November. The Congress is the 22nd Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) Global Conference and is the world's largest carrier grade Wi-Fi event, attended by WBA members and non-members.
The Congress brings together over 300 industry leaders from all parts of the ecosystem including leading telcos, Wi-Fi and cable operators, roaming hub providers and vendors to discuss and define the future of Wi-Fi design, deployments, monetization and roaming strategies.
Ms Bouverot joins this prestigious event as a keynote speaker on November 7, when she will present how 3G and 4G networks are increasingly converging with Wi-Fi and the implications of this convergence for the GSMA’s mobile operator members, as well as the impact on the consumer experience. Earlier this year, the GSMA and the WBA announced collaboration to simplify connectivity to Wi-Fi hotspots from mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. The joint initiative is developing technical and commercial frameworks for Wi-Fi roaming which will bring together the benefits of mobile technology and Wi-Fi networks for the first time, creating a far simpler consumer experience.
Ms. Bouverot joins a line-up of over 40 industry experts including senior representatives from AT&T, Sprint Nextel, Time Warner Cable, Orange, Comcast, Shaw Communications, Vodafone, Cisco, Deutsche Telecom, Ericsson, Google, BT and many more.
Core themes explored during the event include; how to enable seamless cellular-Wi-Fi roaming; approaches to monetising Wi-Fi networks; new business models for telco and cable operators moving into Wi-Fi; multi-technology radio access networks; international roaming agreements; and how to manage the user experience.
Running from November 5-8, the Congress will include a dedicated Roaming Workshop; an open conference; members only plenary; exhibition of technology and service suppliers; the Wi-Fi Industry Awards ceremony; working group sessions and an invitation only Executive Forum. www.wifiglobalcongress.com

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
