WICHITA, Kan. – October 18, 2012 – Powered by CORDURA® Denim fabric, Deane Apparel’s new Urban Deane Denim short and Jean bring stylish durability to men’s workwear apparel. Known for its exceptional abrasion resistance over traditional 100 percent cotton denim, the fabric featured in the Urban Deane CORDURA® Denim fabric Short and Urban Deane CORDURA® Denim fabric Jean offers a fashionable alternative to the regular workwear pant style without sacrificing durability and comfort.

The Urban Deane CORDURA® Denim fabric short and jean also add new features to the classic-fit, five-pocket jean. The double-hem patches protecting areas of high wear help extend the life of the trouser, knee pleats add strength and comfort when kneeling, and wide belt loops support heavy belts. Influenced by fashion trends in the market, Deane Apparel’s new Urban collection, made with CORDURA® Denim fabric, offers the workwear industry trend-conscious styling, complete with hardwearing attributes.

“When we began sourcing a fabric for this product, the most important needs were better colour retention, longevity and strength versus standard 100 percent cotton denim,” said Emma Aiaraisa, product development manager at Deane Apparel. “It needed to withstand constant and heavy usage. INVISTA’s CORDURA® Denim fabric was the obvious choice to meet each one of these needs, and we’ve been extremely pleased with the outcome of the product.”

Celebrating 45 years of durability, CORDURA® fabrics have been chosen repeatedly by workwear companies seeking to develop high performance apparel for harsh work environments. Deane Apparel’s new Urban workwear offerings with CORDURA® Denim fabric offer enhanced functionality and are designed to withstand tough working conditions, without sacrificing everyday style and comfort.

“Workers rely on garments that offer long-lasting and high-performing durability,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. “CORDURA® Denim fabric has the look, comfort and feel of traditional cotton denim, but provides exceptional strength and durability, which is ideal for the rigours of the workwear industry.”

Additional key benefits of CORDURA® Denim fabric include:
• Exceptional abrasion resistance – Four times more resistant to abrasion than standard 100 percent cotton denim fabric (*)
• The heritage of the CORDURA® brand, which has proven performance in many of the world’s toughest environments
