What is the relationship between human being, bee and a Berlin game developer? - The iPhone game “BeeWithMe” gives the answer
Press release from: kunst-stoff GmbH
Berlin, 12.10.2012. kunst-stoff’s “BeeWithMe” is not only a fast pace endless runner game, it also has a documentary background: The offspring of zero one film’s documentary “More than Honey” takes the player on a surprising journey through the microcosm of the bee and shows the importance of this industrial insect for our ecosystem.
Berlin-based game developer kunst-stoff is proud to announce the release of their new game BeeWithMe, which will hit the App Store today. The game will be available for 0.79€/0.99$ at itunes.apple.com/us/app/beewithme/id527941317?mt=8 for iPhone and is a humorous endless runner with a deeper meaning: To create awareness for the disappearance of the bees. “We enjoyed producing a challenging game that also offers a glimpse in the fascinating world of bees”, said Patrick Rau, CEO and Creative Director of kunst-stoff.
ABOUT THE GAME
BeeWithMe takes the player on a fast-pace ride through the world of bees. Who thought, being a bee is all about cheerful buzzing around flowers will be surprised: On this flowery meadow there is no time to relax! On its search for pollen the busy bee flys with breathtaking speed – but dangerous enemies wait in the meadow: Nasty mites and toxic clouds of pesticide threaten the bee’s life...
Using the tilt control of the iPhone the player can manipulate the flight and dodge the dangers. Only if he shows nerves of steel and quick reaction skills, the bee will survive! As an extra, the gamer discovers fascinating facts about the world of bees.
The game was developed in cooperation with zero one film for the documentary “More than Honey”, which will be in German, Swiss and Austrian cinemas soon. It is about more than just honey, more than just a few dead insects – it is about the increasing bee mortality and the surprising correlation of the bee, the human and nature.
kunst-stoff is an independent game developer and producer based in Berlin, Germany. kunst-stoff develops games for PC/Mac, consoles and mobile platforms and produces interactive exhibits for clients in the industrial and cultural field. kunst-stoff started in 2008 as a composite of freelancers.
