Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover (Sept. 29 – Oct. 13, 2012): Six Finalists chosen
Press release from: OPHELIAS Culture PR
Six of the twelve Semifinalists in the ›Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover‹ have rea-ched the Final. Late on Tuesday evening (October 9, 2012), the International Jury announced the names of those young violinists who had succeeded in making the best
impression on them in the two Semifinal rounds. The challenges were enormous. The first round of the Semi-final consisted of a recital, lasting a good hour, which had to include among other pieces the Competition commission ›unentrinnbar‹ - ›no way out‹ - by Peter Francesco Marino, which thus received its first performance. In the second round each competitor had to perform a Mozart violin concerto with the Munich Chamber Orchestra, thereby demonstrating his or her ability to lead and direct an ensemble at the same time as playing the solo instrument.
The Final rounds are to take place in the Großer Sendesaal of the NDR Landesfunkhaus in Hannover on Thursday and Friday, October 11 and 12, 2012. Each of the six Finalists will play one of the great solo concertos of the violin repertoire; among them will be works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius. Playing with the NDR Radiophilharmonie, conducted by Hannu Lintu, the Finalists now have to show that they are also able to hold their own as soloists in front of a large orchestra. The Jury will announce their ranking of the Prize Winners late on Friday evening. Members of the audience can have their say as well: Anyone who has attended both the Finals may vote on who should be awarded the Audience Prize, which is endowed with €5,000. In addition, a jury of music critics has once again been appointed to award the Music Critics’ Prize, also worth €5,000.
Live streaming of the successive stages of the Competition continues at www.jjv-hannover.de.

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
