Magnolia Announces Winners of its 2012 Partner Awards

Packed Magnolia Conference 2012 Shows off Innovation in Corporate Virtual Presence, Mobile Web, Apps, as well as, New eGovernment Portal

Miami, September 19th, 2012 - The winners of the Magnolia Partner Awards 2012 have been announced at this year’s packed Magnolia Conference in Basel, Switzerland. The awards recognize exceptional web projects realized using the Magnolia content management system (CMS).

The contest is judged across four different categories that demonstrate the true potential of Magnolia CMS, going beyond more ‘everyday’ corporate websites.

This year’s winners were Softronic AB, for the Ticket Travel website; OpenMind, for Vespa’s mobile site; Aperto for the EADS mobile app; and Tinext for the Ville de Lausanne eGovernment portal.

1) Virtual Presence Site of the Year
Winner - Softronic AB for the Ticket Travel website: http://www.ticket.se

The Virtual Presence Management category was awarded to Ticket Travel for integrating new business systems and processes into their general Web content offering. Judges were looking for projects that took services from the physical business offering and brought them online in new ways to provide greater value to Website visitors (customers, members, citizens) and reduce cost for the provider.

2) Mobile Project/Site of the Year
Winner – Openmind, for the Vespa mobile site: http://www.it.vespa.com

Within the Mobile category, the Vespa Italy site displayed far more than just a carbon copy of desktop content, reformatted to display on a smaller device. Openmind’s development showed a true understanding of what a mobile visitor wants to achieve from the site. Vespa Italy made good use of existing data and content, whilst adding simple and direct navigation, Specific CSS/templates, along with device-friendly usability and loading speeds.

3) Magnolia-Powered Mobile App of the Year
Winner – Aperto, for Up to Planet EADS: http://www.eads.com/eads/int/en/flash/upmagazine-en.html

The App category was judged from the end user perspective, looking for mobile apps that are intuitive and highly usable. Aperto’s work demonstrated an app that truly engaged and built a relationship with the users. For EADS the app was both innovative and easy to manage and update.

4) Project/Site of the Year
Winner – Tinext for the Ville de Lausanne eGovernment portal: http://www.lausanne.ch

The Ville de Lausanne portal was judged to demonstrate outstanding best practice in combining integration, customisation, use of the Standard Templating Kit (STK), existing modules, custom modules and, in particular Magnolia’s Blossom module for integration with Spring Java framework. The result was one of the largest and most highly functional projects of the year, which delivered true customer satisfaction.
