PR Agency: Androvett Legal Media & Marketing
AUSTIN – Shannon K. McClendon, partner at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, has been appointed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry to a second term on the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.

The Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) was established by the Texas Legislature in 1991 to license, certify, and regulate real estate appraisers in Texas under state and federal laws. TALCB exists to safeguard the public interest and protect consumers from such independent real estate services. Through education, licensing, and regulation, the agency ensures the availability of qualified and ethical service providers, thereby facilitating economic growth and opportunity in Texas.

“I am honored that Governor Perry entrusts me with this responsibility year after year,” says Ms. McClendon. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members to uphold the high standards in place to protect the citizens of Texas.”

This appointment is the fourth for Ms. McClendon by Gov. Perry. She previously was a two-time gubernatorial appointee to the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.

Ms. McClendon’s practice at Gardere focuses on the energy and electric industry, providing advocacy, negotiation, and litigation services to utility companies, large and small consumers, traditional generators, transmission owners and operators, landowners, environmental and renewable resource advocates, wind energy generators, and retail electric providers. She mainly practices before state agencies such as the Public Utility Commission of Texas as well as the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
