New K&N Air Filter for Yamaha YZF Supersport Bike Adds a Lifetime of Performance
Press release from: K&N Engineering, Inc. - K&N Filters
(openPR) - The YZF is a super sport bike that Yamaha advertises as born on the track. It is designed from the company’s racing experience to take the owner to extremes and explore new limits. It has an aluminum frame for good cornering and performance.
K&N Engineering has released a new washable and reusable lifetime air filter (YA-6006) for the 2007 and 2006 Yamaha YZF R6 600 cc engine and the 2005 Yamaha YZF R46 600 cc engine. K&N Air Filters are designed to increase horsepower and acceleration. K&N's high-flow (low-restriction) filter media makes this performance increase posssible while providing excellent air filtration.
More than 35 years of research and development has made K&N the leader in air filtration technology. K&N Air Filters are made of 4 to 6 layers of cotton gauze sandwiched between two epoxy-coated aluminum wire screens.
The cotton is treated with a specially formulated grade of oil. This causes tackiness throughout the cotton’s microscopic strands. The nature of the cotton allows air flow and when combined with the tackiness of our oil, it creates a powerful filtering media that ensures engine protection.
The YA-6006 is engineered to fit into the Yamaha’s factory airbox and is held securely in place our durable polypropylene frame. Simply use the screws out of the sportbike stock air box and place them into the holes on the frame. There is never any cutting or fitting required.
K&N invented the concept of washable, reusable filters more than 35 years ago. Covered by our famous K&N Million Mile Warranty, it will be the last air filter your vehicle will ever need.
