Secardeo certBox

Secardeo certBox

With the version 2.3 of the well-proven certBox PKI Appliance over 70 certificate directories are connected.

Munich/Ismaning, 21. August 2012 – Secardeo releases version 2.3 of its certBox. The certBox is a certificate server that may be used by standard E-Mail clients like Outlook to enable transparent end-to-end encryption. Very simple for the user: He only has to enter the e-mail address, activate the encrypt button and send. With the built-in repository-list over 70 certificate directories can be searched and millions of certificates from several hundred CAs can be used. With the unique ICE mechanism (Identity Certified Encryption) e-mails may be encrypted to arbitrary recipients who do not need to have a certificate in advance. By this, the usage of an existing enterprise PKI (Public Key Infrastruktur) can be improved significantly. The certBox is also an appropriate add-on to a central Secure Mail Gateway and may be connected via LDAP easily.

The Secardeo certBox is the leading certificate server for PKIs and it is in successful operation by large PKIs such as Siemens or the European Bridge CA. It simplifies the end-to-end e-mail encryption drastically. The certBox provides e-mail applications or web browsers with the public keys which are required for encrypting in- or outgoing messages. It supports S/MIME, X.509 and PGP. The certBox performs a global certificate search via LDAP and HTTP and serves as a public certificate repository. The public access to the company’s own certificates is also provided using secure and patented methods which detect and block attack attempts and encrypt sensitive data.

The certBox is delivered as a hardware or virtual appliance and as a cloud service available and can be operated as a high availability cluster.
