Kassel (23 July 2012). Along the lines: „We'd go miles for women's rights“, four of our team members will be tackling the Oxfam Trailwalker challenge in September. By participating in the 100 kilometre team challenge for charity, they will support children and women.

For Aupair World, social commitment is primarily linked to physical fitness in 2012: our ten runners only returned from the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt in June, but our next team is already getting prepared for the charity walk in the Harz mountains.

Oxfam Trailwalker: A great physical challenge
A team of four members of Aupair World will be at the start at the Oxfam Trailwalker team challenge in Germany on 8 and 9 September. The route begins and ends in Osterode, in the Harz mountains. Among other places, the participants will discover UNESCO's cultural heritage "Oberharzer Wasserregal" (a system created for the storage and diversion of water, which was built between the 16th and 19th Century). The aim of the Oxfam Trailwalker team challenge is to walk or run 100 kilometres in 30 hours. This is a great physical challenge: six of our team members - the Aupair World - Silly Walkers – have been training for this purpose every Sunday for many weeks now. Two of them will be supporting our runners throughout the entire challenge, ensuring their well-being.

Raising a fund of 2,000 euros
Physical performance is not the only aspect of the Oxfam Trailwalker challenge: the most important facet is donating for the good cause. The funds raised will directly go to Oxfam and be invested in relief projects for children and women. Until September, the team must have raised 2,000 euros for Oxfam. The funds are a requirement for being admitted to the start. The first donations have been made; the countdown is on.

Larger and smaller contributions: we gladly welcome new sponsors
Therefore, the Aupair World - Silly Walkers need sponsors to support them. Both, larger, as well as smaller donations are welcome – our team will gladly accept any kind of contribution. Simply take a look at the Oxfam team page and search for the Aupair World - Silly Walkers. Get to know them on their team page and support them with just a few clicks. If you wish, you will obtain a valid receipt for your donation and be mentioned as our sponsor on the Oxfam team page and the Aupair World website.

We shall keep you informed on our team page
On our team page, you will find out how our participants are getting fit and how much money has been raised so far. Naturally, we will also keep you posted on the event of 8 and 9 September.

More about the Oxfam Trailwalker team challenge
The Oxfam Trailwalker team challenge is the worldwide biggest charity walk for international educational projects. It is organised by the independent relief and development organisation Oxfam. Oxfam provides assistance in crisis situations worldwide and helps people in poorer countries. Through the Oxfam Trailwalker challenge, the organisation wishes to set an example: every participant contributes to building a just world without poverty. Thus, the 100 kilometre race through the Harz mountains is a physical challenge, a team experience and a charity walk all in one – and additionally, according to the host, "the most exciting trekking tour in the world!" On 8 and 9 September 2012, it will take place for the third time in the Harz mountains, starting in Osterode. The funds are always invested in a charitable project. This year, they will be used for projects supporting children and women in South Africa, Benin and Congo, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
