The new fund will be called PFW Water Fund and will replace the current SBG Growth Fund trading under the symbol BEGAX.
The fund will concentrate primarily on companies focused on water, but will be a broadly diversified portfolio in that Mr. Berlant currently follows 130 public companies in the sector. The fund will be focused on owning the best of the companies that are participating in the water industry.
“The definition of the industry that I embrace for the purpose of investing in the water sector includes all of the things that influence the quality or availability of water. From that perspective we will be looking at companies involved in purification and disinfection, we will be involved with companies in desalination, as well as companies that are active in the infrastructure area and of course water utilities,” describes Neil Berlant.
He adds, “This will be a fairly discriminating investment portfolio so that over time, through being vigorous in our selection of companies, we can deliver to our shareholders growth of capital.”
