"Pre-filled syringe unit sales will reach 3.59 billion in 2015" visiongain report predicts
Press release from: visiongain
A new report by visiongain predicts that worldwide unit sales of pre-filled medical syringe devices will reach 3.59 billion for 2015. That forecast appears in Pre-Filled Syringes: World Market Prospects 2012-2022, published in June 2012. Visiongain is a business information provider based in London, UK.
The market for pre-filled syringes has achieved strong growth in recent years, expanding in revenues and unit sales. Visiongain’s report shows how that growth will continue from 2012 to 2022 at a strong rate, as the numbers of pharmaceutical products launched on the market in pre-filled syringe format increases. Use of human medicines in pre-filled syringe packs has broadened in recent years into many therapeutic classes of biological drugs (biologics) and vaccines. That area of drug delivery holds much promise.
Dr Syed Ahmed, a senior pharmaceutical industry analyst at visiongain, explains: “Currently, there are over a thousand injectable drugs in the pharma R&D pipeline, with many being large complex molecules and formulations of proteins that need specific delivery in a liquid stable or lyophilised format. Also, there is increased use of drugs in home care situations, which will result in a need for pre-filled syringes, given their benefits in convenience and safe handling of injected medicines.”
Visiongain’s report provides revenue forecasts to 2022 at overall world market, submarket, branded drug and national level. It forecasts world sales for syringe technology submarkets:
• Pre-filled syringes
• Pen systems and autoinjectors.
That investigation also forecasts world revenues of leading therapeutic classes and products in the parenteral drug market. It covers monoclonal antibodies, insulins and other injectable therapeutic proteins, including biosimilars (follow-on protein products).
Research, data and analyses discuss activities of Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), Vetter Pharma-Fertigung, SCHOTT, Gerresheimer and other companies. The work also discusses syringe components, technologies and services.
The study assesses R&D activities and commercial news, shows research interviews and forecasts revenues in leading national markets. The work analyses the US, Japan, leading EU countries, China and India.
Pre-Filled Syringes: World Market Prospects 2012-2022 adds to visiongain’s range of analytical reports on industries and markets in healthcare.
