Press release from: Qubyx Software Technologies Inc.

University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics has installed PerfectLum medical monitor calibration and quality assurance tool to perform calibrations and QA tests.

Wilmington, DE, July 03, 2012 -- QUBYX PerfectLum medical display QA application, designed for DICOM and AAPM conformance of medical displays, will be applied in one more healthcare facility. The quality assurance capabilities of the medical monitor QA tool include acceptance and constancy testing according to the American Association of Physicists in Medicine Task Group 18 standard, which is the key medical regulation in the United States.

“We have developed PerfectLum to meet the requirements of the most demanding customers and the most exigent medical standards,” says Marc Leppla, Director of QUBYX. “We are pleased to see our product used by some of the most respected healthcare facilities in the USA, which proves our commitment to the medical community.”

PerfectLum medical monitor calibration and quality control application is designed to perform DICOM, Gamma and CIE L* calibrations along with AAPM TG18 acceptance and constancy tests. This makes it an important display management tool, which serves to ensure confidence in the quality of medical imaging monitors. By using the medical display calibration software, medical practitioners enhance the precision of reproduced images, and thus the accuracy of their diagnoses.

The updated version 3.0 of PerfectLum features a faster and more precise calibration along with a more convenient user interface. Version 3.0 is also much more secure, with an automatic database backup, password-protected preferences and LUT security. In addition to this, PerfectLum 3 is more compatible with various models of displays and meters, so can be integrated in existing medical imaging systems more easily.

With its ability to calibrate even cheaper consumer monitors for use in medical environment, PerfectLum is a very cost-effective solution. Medical imaging professionals are thus able to make substantial cost savings without having to compromise image accuracy. The quality of PerfectLum and commercial display bundle is supported by the fact that Dell U3011 displays bundled with PerfectLum software were the first consumer monitors to receive FDA 510 (k) approval. So healthcare centers will be able to use PerfectLum even with consumer displays and retain imaging quality within the requirements of medical regulations.
