Kamran Tahbazian named Head of Research and Development at TRUMPF Medical Systems

Ditzingen (Germany), July 2, 2012 – With effect from July 1, 2012, Kamran Tahbazian is the new Head of Research and Development / Product Management at medical technology company TRUMPF Medical Systems. With around 20 years of experience in the medical technology sector, he brings a comprehensive understanding of international hospitals to the role. Tahbazian joined TRUMPF in 2003.
After studying physical engineering with a focus on medical technology at FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, Germany, Tahbazian began his career in 1991 in European sales for MEDAP Medical Apparatus GmbH. He then became International Product Manager for surgical lights at Heraeus Med, before moving on to head the telemedicine business at Maquet. In 2003 he joined the TRUMPF Group as Global Marketing Director for the Medical Systems division, with responsibility for the company’s global marketing activities and for product management. For the last one and a half years, Tahbazian was also Senior Sales Executive for the Middle East and Africa regions as well as for Italy and Turkey.
With sales totaling US $ 2.763 billion (€ 2.024 billion) and 8,550 employees, the TRUMPF Group ranks among the leading manufacturing companies worldwide. The three following business divisions are combined under the umbrella of a holding company: Machine Tools, Laser Technology/Electronics and Medical Technology. Its core business is machine tools for flexible sheet metal processing for punching and forming, laser processing and bending.
