NUREMBERG, BREMEN, Germany, June 28, 2012 – Open-Xchange, a supplier of business-class email and collaboration software, supports the lastest version 3.0 of Linux infrastructure solution Univention Corporate Server (UCS), the leading Open Source platform to provide and manage domain and infrastructure services for organizations. Customers benefit from fully integrated administration of users and devices with Open-Xchange and the freedom to move their deployment easily to the cloud.

Combining Open-Xchange with UCS 3.0 significantly reduces administrative costs and makes it easy to integrate into existing IT infrastructure. UCS 3.0 comes with a completely revised, central web interface for system and domain administration, management of servers, workstations and desktops as well as software monitoring and software distribution. UCS offers also an integral user and rights management for all applications, independently of whether these are run on the cloud or traditionally in the company. It is the first commercial product to integrate Samba 4, the next generation of Open Source software for Microsoft-compatible domain management enabling IT professionals to construct more complex Active Directory domains and ensure interoperability with upcoming Microsoft Windows operating systems. This ensures that LDAP directory and Microsoft Active Directory can be used in parallel.
