Award for Outstanding Entrepreneurial Achievements
Press release from: Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH
Silver Medal of Honour of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce goes to Professor Näder
Professor Hans Georg Näder, Chairman and CEO of Ottobock, accepted the silver medal of honour from the Vienna Chamber of Commerce on 21 June. In a ceremonial act at the Palais Festetics, Vice President and Councillor of Commerce Dr. Paulus Stuller of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce presented the award for outstanding entrepreneurial achievements. The trophy also recognised Näder's extraordinary social commitment.
Professor Näder is managing the Otto Bock Group in what is already the third generation. As the grandson of company founder Otto Bock, the business administration graduate assumed his position as head of the family company in 1990. Since its founding in Berlin in 1919, the orthopaedics manufacturer has pursued a vision: to improve the mobility of people with disabilities through innovative products. Ottobock is now represented in 46 countries with a network of sales and service locations. Otto Bock HealthCare Products GmbH in Vienna has been making an essential contribution to globally recognised development activities with its advanced research infrastructure for more than four decades. These efforts result in technology milestones such as myoelectric prosthetic arms, the C-Leg® leg prosthesis system and the Genium microprocessor-controlled leg prosthesis system which have revolutionised the industry.
Professor Näder also exhibits innovativeness and social commitment by supporting disabled athletes. Since the 1988 Summer Games in Seoul, the medtech company has been promoting professional Paralympic sports through a special sponsorship function. The medtech company regularly sends an international team of prosthetists/orthotists to the Paralympics in order to provide technical service. This has developed into ongoing cooperation with the International Paralympic Committee.
Ottobock - Technology for People
Otto Bock HealthCare helps people maintain or regain their freedom of movement with innovative products.
