Comguard, a Dubai based leading value added distributor for IT security products and the authorised distributor for Kaspersky, today announced the availability of Kaspersky Security for Virtualization in the Middle East region.

Kaspersky Security for Virtualization provides an award-winning anti-malware solution for virtualised infrastructures including servers, desktops and data centres. In addition, it can also manage security for a wide range of devices like physical servers, virtual machines and mobile devices from one, unified security management console that simplifies essential security tasks and improves visibility of security issues.

In addition to plug-and-play compatibility with Kaspersky Lab’s own endpoint security offerings, the new innovation which is delivered as a virtual security appliance also integrates seamlessly with VMware vShield Endpoint to provide agent-less, anti-malware security based upon Kaspersky Lab’s advanced anti-malware engine. Developed from the same code-base as Kaspersky Lab’s award-winning line of endpoint security products, Kaspersky Security for Virtualization avoids the needless complexity and resource-drain associated with security programs that typically “bolt-on” acquired technology for virtual environments. With Kaspersky Lab, customers have a single, unified management platform for their virtual, physical and mobile environments.

Key features for Kaspersky Security for Virtualization:
Advanced anti-malware
Kaspersky’s award-winning anti-malware engine achieves superior detection rates – to help protect your physical and virtualised computing environment from new and increasingly sophisticated threats.

Single management console
Kaspersky Security Center – which is available at no additional cost – gives your IT team a single, unified management console that can manage the security of virtual machines, physical machines and mobile devices.

Supporting business progress
By making it easier for your team to manage hybrid environments – including virtualised and conventional platforms – Kaspersky Security for Virtualization helps you to introduce virtualisation at a pace that’s right for your business.

Improved return on investment (ROI)
Because Kaspersky Security for Virtualization is an agentless solution, it helps businesses to achieve higher virtualisation density and performance – helping to generate a higher return on investment.

Mohammad Mobasseri, Senior Vice President, Comguard, said, “We are really excited, as Kaspersky Security for Virtualization is a power packed solution for enterprises in the region to optimize performance, reduce hardware costs and energy consumption, and provide detailed logging of security tasks to satisfy compliance auditing requirements. While, the advanced management features help to simplify administration tasks and eliminate security gaps.”

System Requirements
Kaspersky Security for Virtualization, combined with VMware vShield Endpoint, is compatible with vSphere 5.0; VMware hypervisor ESX/ESX 4.1 and 5.0; vCenter Server 5.0; vShield App 1.0; vShield Edge 1.0 and VMware View 4.5. Kaspersky Security for Virtualization provides agent-less protection for virtual machines running on most Windows operating systems, including Widows 7; Windows Vista; Windows XP; Windows Server 2008; Windows Server 2008 R2; and Windows Server 2003.

Availability
Kaspersky Security for Virtualization is available all across the Middle East including UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait among other countries in the Middle East region through its authorized distributor Comguard.
