First ASEAN showcase of LANXESS Lewabrane® product line at SIWW 2012
Press release from: LANXESS Pte Ltd
- LANXESS to showcase Lewabrane® Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane alongside Lewatit® ion exchange resins
- LANXESS Lewabrane® Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane elements and Lewatit® provides a one-stop water treatment for desalination and the production of high-quality water
- Meet LANXESS at Singapore International Water Week from 2 – 4 July at booth no. J 22
Singapore – Specialty chemicals company LANXESS, will be introducing its newest line of products at the upcoming Singapore International Water Week (SIWW). Held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre Exhibition, the show will run from 2 – 4 July.
Participating for the second time at SIWW, this year will be a milestone for LANXESS as it will showcase its latest product line-up - Lewabrane® Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane for the first time in Southeast Asia.
This March LANXESS announced the launch of its newest product line, the Lewabrane® (RO) membrane for reverse osmosis to complement its established Lewatit® ion exchange resins. The products which will be produced at the new Bitterfeld, Germany production site that was opened in September 2011, consist of two RO element types with different capacities that are based on a three-layer composite membrane structure that is manufactured in several production stages.
LANXESS entrance into the Reverse Osmosis membrane technology is an essential step forward in the field of water treatment. With the membrane technology, LANXESS will be able to provide its customers with premium products as a single-source supplier for both separation technologies – reverse osmosis and ion exchange resins.
Wolfgang Heuchel, VP of the APAC region, Ion Exchange Resins (ION) business unit of LANXESS, stated that ION by having Lewabrane® and Lewatit® product range LANXESS will be a “one stop shop supplier” for customers. He said: “Though home to 60% of the world’s population Asia-Pacific only has 36% of the world’s water resources. Water availability, allocation and more importantly the quality of drinking water remain major issues in several Asian countries.
Treating wastewater for re-use is an essential consideration and LANXESS wants to contribute to this effort. This is where we see the Lewabrane® and Lewatit® as integrated water solution technologies that aid the creation of high-quality water.”
The theme for this year’s SIWW is "Water Solutions for Liveable and Sustainable Cities". Reinforcing the pressing need to integrate sustainable water management strategies into the urban planning process, this theme is in line with the LANXESS commitment to provide technologies that offer sustainable solutions.
Wolfgang added: “We highly apt to showcase our Lewabrane® and Lewatit® grades at the SIWW 2012. Given that this year’s theme hopes to encourage cities to find new integrated and innovative ways to resolve pressing urbanisation challenges around the world, it is in line to what the LANXESS Lewabrane® and Lewatit® product range can provide.”
Both the Lewabrane® and Lewatit® product range offer the industry premium separation technologies for desalination and the production of high-quality water. Both water treatment processes complement each other perfectly, as the high treated water quality helps to prolong the service life of machinery such as turbines and steam generators via protection against fouling, scale formation and corrosion.
