Press release from: Amy Stewart PC
Amy Stewart Speaks on Ethical Issues in Tripartite Relationships
Amy Stewart Speaks on Ethical Issues in Tripartite Relationships
(DALLAS) Amy Elizabeth Stewart, of Dallas’ Amy Stewart PC, will discuss the ethical landmines present in the tripartite relationship among an insurance company, its insured, and insurance defense counsel.

Her presentation, “Navigating the Ethical Current: The Tripartite Relationship,” is at 3 p.m. on June 19 at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Alexander Room, 18349 Dallas Parkway (at the North Dallas Tollway and Frankford). Ms. Stewart is one of three speakers presenting on behalf of Counsel On Call’s Summer CLE program. Her presentation may be eligible for 1 hour of legal ethics/professional responsibility credit (application pending).

“Ethical traps abound in the tripartite relationship,” Ms. Stewart says. “Who is the client? What happens when the parties’ interests collide? When does the insured get to select its own counsel? The possible conflicts are many and exceedingly common.”

Ms. Stewart was recently named one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas. She has also been named one of the Top 25 Women in Business 2011 by the Dallas Business Journal and was named to the Texas Super Lawyers® list of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in Texas by Thomson Reuters.

For more information, contact Ms. Stewart at 214.665.9550 or amy@amystewartlaw.com, or visit the firm’s website at www.amystewartlaw.com.

Ms. Stewart represents policyholders in disputes with their insurance companies. When an insurer denies coverage, refuses to provide a defense in a lawsuit against the insured, or reserves its right to deny coverage, Ms. Stewart helps her clients maximize the coverage provided by their insurance policies. She regularly represents clients in disputes involving the existence and scope of coverage, violations of state insurance regulations and consumer protection statutes, bad faith, and claim resolution.

Having spent many years representing insurance companies in coverage litigation, Ms. Stewart has unique insight into the perspectives of both the insurer and the insured. Her substantial experience with the insurance industry and understanding of the applicable law make her an invaluable resource for her clients facing an insurance dispute.
