H100 Volunteer Group Hosts Hillsides Farm to Table Dinner
Press release from: Hillsides
(PASADENA, CA)—Hillsides philanthropic support group, H100, will host this year's Farm to Table dinner on Sunday, June 24, at a private estate in Pasadena. The grounds of this magnificent estate illustrate the volunteer group’s philosophy of providing the charity’s guests with an evening that supports a food culture made up of fresh, locally grown, seasonal items.
Alexandra Poer Sheridan of Alexandra's Table is creating a feast incorporating many of the fruits, vegetables and herbs available to her from the estate’s garden, as well as sourcing local ranches for fresh, grass fed meats.
H100 is a philanthropic support group of Hillsides, a premier provider dedicated to improving the overall well-being and functioning of vulnerable children and families in Southern California. For the past 99 years, Hillsides has been helping children and families realize meaningful and quality lives after experiencing severely traumatic beginnings. H100 was created to ensure Hillsides is able to continue to meet the needs of our society's most vulnerable members for the next 100 years.
In keeping with Hillsides Farm to Table theme of supporting and sustaining the local community, H100 will offer a donation opportunity at this year's dinner. H100 members will be setting up a lemon "giving tree," featuring the needs and wishes of the students at Hillsides Education Center. These necessities will vary from school supplies to underwriting a summer outing.
“We hope our guests will take a moment to read the simple ways in which together we can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families this summer,” said Joseph M. Costa, Hillsides chief executive officer. “This giving tree is an opportunity to create lasting change in the lives of those we serve and we hope every guest will participate in one way or another.”
