MBA, BBA, and other management graduate students are in great demand in job market these days. All organizations, no matter what their domain is, are keen to hire MBA, BBA or management graduates preferably. Even the IT, Engineering, and medical companies are filling most of the vacancies with management graduate manpower. The reasons are said to be their understanding and skills to manage business. Certainly a good job was the reason why so many people used to join MBA in India. Their expectations are answered now. Recently placement has begun for MBA, BBA 2010-12 batch at Indore Management Institute. We have tried to collect views of MBA and BBA students and the college administration on future prospects.

We know that a good job is the primary attraction behind so many admissions in MBA, BBA and other management courses but is it the only attraction? “No” was the answer of Mr. Pradeep, admission officer at IMI, “certainly students’ first preference is a good job but there is also an image of reputed job profile, high future prospects, and high entrepreneurship potential are also the latent forces that works behind the scene” he adds. They certainly are. It can be seen that many of the MBA or BBA students, immediately or after spending a certain time in jobs to gain experience turn entrepreneurs. “and MBA students are often successful entrepreneurs than other graduates” he adds.

While asked about the placement process and current year placement at Indore Management Institute one Ms. Farida, Coordinator, informed the process. “The placement process at IMI starts from the admission of MBA, BBA students in fact. Many of our faculties are from industry; they are working professionals and managers. They make our students aware of the current trends and requirements in the industry and teach them accordingly. At the same time they become aware about our students capabilities and spread the word outside. Besides, we conduct several industry visits every year wherein students get to know about the industrial developments, challenges and then develop themselves accordingly. There are many education and industry integration process in practice at IMI resulting into a constant flow of job requirements throughout the year” she informs. “Many of our students have already been selected by renowned organizations such as Videocon, Pacific Pipe Systems Ltd, Mall8door, Capital via, etc. We have recently started the placement process formally and are inviting companies for placement selection” she adds.

It also came to know that Indore Management Institute is soon going to organization a huge job fair for all the MBA, BBA and other graduates in all discipline and all colleges in fact wherein hundreds of reputed organizations will come to select candidates but “the dates are not yet finalized” says Farida.

MBA, BBA are certainly job oriented courses but they are only fruitful if the academic institution makes required efforts to place their students. Indore Management Institute seems to be on the right line in this regard.
