AwoX Mozart II powering Aperion ARIS

June 4, 2012 – Palo Alto, California, On May 8, 2012 Aperion Audio announced the ARIS™ Wireless Speaker, the first all-in-one “Networked Speaker” designed to work with both Windows 7- and upcoming Windows 8-based PCs.

Awox has worked in close cooperation with Aperion to develop a new form factor of the AwoX Mozart II module that can be “slotted-in” to the ARIS speaker. This modular card provides the technological foundation for ARIS to stream, control and play digital music, using AwoX DLNA technology. When coupled with the acoustic expertise provided by Aperion, the AwoX module provides a seamless experience for delivery of high quality audio to any room in the home.

This module provides both wired and wireless (802.11n) Ethernet connectivity on standard home networks. For wireless networks, it can be provisioned using either the WPS 2.0 push button method, or by utilizing a browser to access the module’s built-in configuration page. Today the device supports the Compatible with Windows 7 logo, and is targeted to be one of the first devices certified for Windows 8. The module is also controllable from Android or iOS devices, providing a versatile solution regardless of what devices you already own.

Streaming and content browsing is handled using the DLNA industry standard, for which Awox is the leading ISV worldwide. Awox provides two different hardware options for networked audio, the Mozart II for embedded application, and this new slot form factor for flexibility in distribution or for aftermarket sales.
