Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina participated in a wills clinic on Saturday April 21st in Charleston, South Carolina that provided free wills and advance directive to first responders in the Charleston area. The first responders that took part in the wills clinic included local police, firefighters, EMS, and other first responder agencies and support staff. The event was held on the second floor of the Gaillard Auditorium in Charleston, South Carolina and had plenty of room to receive all the first responders that attended.

The wills clinic was sponsored through the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar which sponsors similar events for first responders throughout the state. The wills clinic featured many local attorneys and law students that helped draft wills and serve as notaries and witnesses. Each of the first responders that attended the clinic was offered a complimentary simple last will and testament, a declaration for the desire of a natural death or living will, and a healthcare power of attorney. Attorney Guthrie participated in this annual event in the Charleston area for the second straight year as he helped draft wills for responders and family members that attended. Mr. Guthrie appreciated the chance to be able to give back to those that proudly serve and protect us each and every day. The first responders and their families are vulnerable due to the inherent danger of their respective jobs and the great need for estate planning is present.
