Postcode Route Planning to Help Raise £100,000 for Street Children

Fundraising cycle challenge has a £100,000 target
Worcester, UK – 29 May 2012 – Rock UK Adventure Centres Limited has used Postcode Anywhere’s Route Optimiser to plot the most efficient route for a UK-wide fundraising cycle challenge.

The adventure centre company has set an “ambitious” £100,000 target for the race, set to raise funds for The Street Child World Cup, a worldwide campaign advocating the rights of children living on the streets full-time.

Rock UK believes postcode-powered technology from Postcode Anywhere will play its part in hitting the target.

Mark Heasman, Rock UK Group Chief Executive, said: “We had heard about Postcode Anywhere through our association with various major charities and know that they’re keen to support charitable activities and events.

“As a charity event it is really important we keep running costs to a minimum, as our main objective is to raise as much money as we can.

“Although we were familiar with Postcode Anywhere as a leading postcode look-up provider we were surprised to discover the company’s Route Optimiser service. It presented a perfect fit for our ‘one-off’ cycle challenge event as it fulfilled all our project objectives.

“It’s really important we make the process as efficient as possible, to encourage the maximum amount of people to register for the fundraiser.

“Route Optimiser has saved us hours of laborious manual map plotting. You simply enter the postcodes of the waypoints, and variables such as peak traffic times. The route is then automatically calculated, which helped us plan the event meticulously.

“It’s refreshing in this day and age to learn that some organisations are committed to giving a good service - and not just commercially motivated. Throughout the project, from inception to completion, we’ve sensed these guys really wanted to help us every step of the way. They have done their utmost to support us throughout the entire set-up process.

“If we achieve our ambitious £100,000 fundraising target, Postcode Anywhere and Route Optimiser will certainly have contributed to the project’s overall success.”

Postcode Anywhere’s managing director Guy Mucklow said: “Rock UK is playing a pivotal part in raising funds for The Street Child World Cup, an international campaign advocating the rights of some of the most vulnerable minors in the world. We are exceptionally proud to be able to support them, and to have developed the route planning technology which makes their job that much easier.

“Whether you’re running a charity, multinational business or kitchen-top enterprise, efficiency can be the difference between success and failure. Saving hours of manual planning, Route Optimiser is a service which can help tip the balance when trying to plan complex routes with multiple waypoints.”
