GEA Niro drying technology at ACHEMA 2012
Press release from: GEA Niro
PR Agency: The Words Workshop
At ACHEMA (June 18-22 June, Frankfurt, Germany), GEA Process Engineering - the company behind the world-recognised GEA Niro spray and fluid bed drying technologies – will be present to promote GEA Niro drying systems and discuss how working with GEA helps customers meet the strictest requirements to product quality, plant efficiency and safety, and sustainable production.
The company will be showing some of its small-scale units at the booth including: a mobile GEA Niro SWIRL FLUIDIZER™ - a dryer for the drying of pastes and filter cakes; and a GEA Niro spray dryer type MOBILE MINOR™. Both are for R&D purposes and production in small quantities.
The exhibits will also include the GEA Niro DRYING KINETICS ANALYZER™. It allows drying parameters to be established based on the study of one droplet and can be used to test the feasibility of spray drying for a new product at an early stage in the product’s development, and to provide better process simulations.
Sales staff and technologists will also be available to discuss how pharmaceutical spray drying - spray drying under cGMP conditions - can help companies in the pharmaceutical industry provide more efficient and user-friendly drug delivery systems and formulations. Recently, a new aseptic spray dryer using pure steam for sterilization - the preferred and proven method within the pharmaceutical industry - has been launched for the new generation of GEA Niro ASEPTICSD™ spray dryers (patents pending). This allows the pharmaceutical industry to take full advantage of the benefits of spray drying in the production of sterile products like antibiotics.
Monday at ACHEMA (June 18): Senior Process Technologist Henrik Schwartzbach will be giving a speech on ‘Controlled humidity drying in spray dryers and fluid beds’. The speech will take place at 16.00 in Hall 4 C, room Alliance.
On Wednesday (June 20), Jakob Sloth, Research Scientist at the GEA Niro Test Centre will be giving a speech about ‘Efficient formulation and process development for spray drying applications’ in the Congress Centre (CMF), room Harmonie 3 at 15.00.
GEA Process Engineering will be occupying part of the GEA stand located in Hall 4.0, Stand F44.
GEA Niro is the world leader in spray drying and freeze drying for the food, dairy, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. Niro is part of the GEA Group.
