Prof. Hans Georg Näder is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the NADA effective immediately
Press release from: Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH
Prof. Hans Georg Näder is the new chairman of the supervisory board of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) effective immediately. The 50-year-old is an entrepreneur and CEO of the Otto Bock group. "As an active deep-sea sailor and decades-long member of the global Paralympic family, clean sports are an integral part of my culture," said Näder on Tuesday after being elected for five years by the NADA supervisory board in Bonn.
NADA chairwoman Dr. Andrea Gotzmann commented, "His many-faceted social commitment makes Prof. Näder a highly credible representative of NADA's fundamental values." Prof. Näder's first official act was to present the outgoing chairman of the supervisory board, Prof. Hanns Michael Hölz, with the NADA crystal for his achievements in the fight against doping. Hölz has been part of NADA since 2005, first as chairman of the board of trustees and since March 2011 as chairman of the supervisory board. The supervisory board thanked Prof. Hölz for his responsible actions in working for clean sports. His exemplary dedication led to NADA's development to an international benchmark for the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) in recent years.
"I cannot think of a better successor than Prof. Näder. His many years of experience supporting and promoting Paralympic sports will contribute greatly to strengthening NADA even more as a competence centre in the fight against doping," said Hölz, who – by mutual agreement last autumn with the NADA committees – resigned to become Chairman of the German Snowboard Association.
