Strolling through the internet with click.to StumbleUpon

Press release from: Axonic Informationssysteme GmbH

New partnership makes browsing the Internet a pleasure

Efficiency isn’t everything. Click.to, the desktop app from Karlsruhe-based Axonic Informationssysteme GmbH, now offers internet users a fresh vision, thanks to its partnership with StumbleUpon. The integration of the online search service with click.to provides a function on the desktop that lets users discover the internet in a new light.

StumbleUpon is a discovery engine that can be used for intuitive browsing. StumbleUpon is not a traditional, goal-oriented research tool, but a diverse collection of interesting websites that can be used to capture a variety of topics. If, for example, you are looking for the word "photograph", each search will lead to a different result. The user can decide whether to stop and investigate a particular website, or continue looking for something more interesting.

click.to changes the way StumbleUpon works by integrating two functions on the desktop, significantly increasing the accessibility of the search service. Firstly, the integrated click.to search feature allows for topical website discovery through specific words; users can copy a word from an e-mail, a PDF or a document and select "click.to StumbleUpon" to initiate a search for that topic. Secondly, click.to makes adding new sites to StumbleUpon easier by automatically detecting whether a URL has been copied and offering users the option to add the desired website to StumbleUpon.

"click.to StumbleUpon is an important addition to our desktop app. The feature is smart and fun," says Martin Welker, CEO of Axonic.

"click.to's integration of our content recommendation APIs creates an engaging discovery experience," said Marc Leibowitz, VP of Partnerships at StumbleUpon. "We look forward to more companies following click.to's lead."

click.to is available for Mac and Windows

Axonic is a software provider that focuses on information, communication and recognition technologies. Founded in 2003 by Martin Welker, the company has directed its research and development in recent years towards "communication intelligence". In 2011, the idea arose to reduce the targeted analysis, representation and simplification of communication from the complex interplay of various computer applications to a single common denominator. click.to was born from this idea as an easy-to-use desktop app that works with web services and programs of all kinds
